Viviane Esders Prize in Photography Awarded to German Photographer Dörte Eißfeldt.

Viviane Esders and the members of the 2025 jury—Damarice Amao, Antoine de Galbert, Arnaud Lévénès, Robert Pujade, Marie Robert, and Sonia Voss—have awarded the 2025 Viviane Esders Prize to the German photographer Dörte Eißfeldt.

The jury chose to honor an artistic practice sustained over more than forty years, distinguished by its coherence, poetry, and deep reflection on the photographic medium–qualities that particularly captivated the jury’s attention in Dörte Eißfeldt’s work.

She will receive an endowment of €50,000. Two other finalists, Oleksandr Suprun and Bohdan Holomíček, will each receive €5,000.

During the award evening, Viviane Esders received the insignia of "Officière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" from Christopher Miles, Director General for Artistic Creation at the Ministry of Culture. This distinction recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through their artistic or literary creations, or through their contribution to the promotion and influence of the Arts and Letters in France and throughout the world.
